Jarem Michael Olsen, age 43, of Salem, Utah, passed away on October 7, 2026. He was born on September 23, 1983, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Jarem grew up in Utah, where he enjoyed a fun and memorable childhood filled with family, laughter, and adventure. He loved camping, hunting, spending time outdoors, and making memories with his siblings. He was always finding a little mischief to get into and kept life entertaining for those around him. Some of his happiest childhood memories were made simply by playing with his siblings and spending time with his family.
Jarem graduated from Lone Peak High School and went on to earn his journeyman electrician license. He dedicated 23 years to his career as an electrician and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
Jarem had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for the mountains, where he found peace, happiness, and a sense of freedom. He especially loved the outdoors and found great joy in working with animals. What began as a hobby training wild mustangs eventually grew into a passion for training mules. Jarem was incredibly patient, intentional, and dedicated to his training. As a member of the Rocky Mountain Mule Club, he enjoyed exploring new places and discovering beautiful trails with his mules. He especially loved finding the perfect spots for a little “rock hopping,” one of his favorite adventures.
Fishing was another favorite pastime, especially when it meant spending time with those he loved. He and his family often enjoyed heading up the canyon for an evening by the lake. Whether they caught fish or not didn't matter nearly as much as the time they spent together.
Jarem was a man of many talents and interests. Recently, he discovered a love for leatherworking and spent countless hours designing and building his very own saddle. True to his nature, he poured his heart into the project, carefully perfecting every detail until it was just right. He also enjoyed playing old country music on his guitar, sharing funny videos, songs, and movies with those around him, and introducing others to the hobbies he loved.
One of Jarem's dreams was to own a Cane Corso, and when that dream finally came true, his dog quickly became his baby. He devoted countless hours to working with and training her, forming a special bond built on love and trust.
Above all, Jarem loved his family. He treasured spending quality time with his wife and children, whether they were enjoying the outdoors, sharing a laugh, or simply being together. He was thoughtful, a good listener, and someone who genuinely cared about others. He found joy in sharing the things he loved and creating memories with the people who meant the most to him. His family will forever cherish the memories they made together and the love he brought into their lives.
Jarem is survived by his wife, Alison Olsen, and their four children, McKenna Olsen, Kesslie Olsen, Reece Olsen, and Brynlee Olsen. He is also survived by his father, Bob Olsen, and his wife, Sheri; his brothers, Adam Olsen, Dan (Staci) Olsen, Jake (Jenna) Olsen, and Sam (Chelsea) Olsen; his sister, Holly (Trevor) McClellan; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Becky Olsen, and his sister-in-law, Binx Olsen.
